Looks like everyone should make sure they have a FUEL WATER SEPERATOR.

Good info, makes sense to me that I should get one. I would rather be safe than sorry. Does anybody have any reccomendations what and where I can find one for a 115 Suzuki 4 stroke. I have never looked at the fuel/water sep. before. Thanks

Think I'll move that fuel filter / water separator up to the top of my to-do list. Although they are required to post on the pump if the fuel contains ethanol, and I NEVER use E10. Saving a few pennies isn't worth the risk. No Racetrack gas for this engine.

Suzuki Marine has "their" own brand;

And a lot of guys use Racor. Get the kind with the clear bowl so that you can see the water if it should appear.
Do a search on "fuel filter" or "separator" and you'll find a bunch of old threads, like this one;

I am thinking of putting a fuel filter on my Yamaha F40BTLR 4 Stroke. Yame has their own filters, for under 115 HP and over 115. Here is what I am thinking on putting on my JV17.

PowerMatched™ Protection – 115hp and under New mini10™ Fuel/Water Separating Filters ensure a high-performance flow rate to keep small and midrange engines running smooth. The filter is made from coated steel on the inside, painted steel outside, for added corrosion resistance, and features an aluminum head.
Here is the one for engines over 115

Also, Stabil has come out with a version for marine engines or actually any engine to protect from E-10 gas or water.

• BEST Ethanol Problem Fighter
• Extra Corrosion Protection & Fuel System Cleaning
• For Optimal, Everyday Performance & Protection
• Recommended to be used at Every Fill Up, Not Just for Seasonal Storage
• DOUBLE the Corrosion Preventers in Regular STA-BIL
• Over FOUR TIMES the Fuel System Cleaner in Regular STA-BIL
• Use in ALL 2 & 4-cycle marine engines, in gasoline, gasoline/oil mixtures and ethanol blends
• Also safe to use in ALL stored or infrequently driven collector cars, motorhomes, tractors, snowmobiles, motorcycles, lawnmowers and ALL outdoor power equipment.
• One bottle treats up to 80 Gallons
Note: These are from their WEB Sites. I am not endorsing either product - just providing for info in case anyone wants to look into them for protecting their engines.

YES everyone needs a water separator now with E10 everywhere. change that baby at least 3-4 times a year if you dont use your boat every weekend! i know guys changing them every month or so. this E10 crap is messing up some boats all over. thankfully i've got two stores where i can get some non E10, but they say it wont be long and they'll have it. fiberglass fuel tanks are what is causing the most problems with. just another reason to like a skiff, plastic tanks!
