I took an old milk crate my local milkman gave me and modified it to hold my anchor when not in use. The milk crate is a perfect height to allow it to slide under the rear deck on my DLX. I took a jig saw and cut slots and notches to allow the anchor to sit low enough to clear the rear deck.

On my DLV I use a black plastic concrete mixing pan for the anchor. Its shallow enough to fit inside the hatch openings and large enough to hold my anchor and rode. I drilled a few holes in the bottom for drainage.

Well, I no longer own that anchor. It was donated to the local reef/wreck system since it was unable to hold bottom very well (NOT fond of Chene anchors). I have had a lot of trouble getting that anchor to hold, so when it got lost, I was more thankful I now had a reason to replace it...lol...
Actually, we used that anchor on our houseboat about 30 years ago, so I guess you could say it had seen its fair share of salt ;)

Now that I have a new anchor more like yours (very long shank), I might have to check into one of those for my boat. Nice looking setup!
