Do any of you have any of these, and if so do they work ok.Tell me your thoughts.I was thinking about getting some for the outside holes. They are only about $20 dollars for the pair.Just don't want to drill holes to mount them, before I find out if they work or not.

Thanks,

My cousin has them on a Blue Wave and likes them. I just have some reservations about a hole in my boat that is not completely filled up with something. I rarely get enough water in the boat to really worry, at least nothing that the bilge pump won't handle.

Broke, i was looking at those too, but trying to find also the ping pong style with the same size base as the one you post so if those don't work the ping pong should work but i don't like the way they look.
What do you think?

I also like the way these look ,They don't stick out any.Plus,It looks as if you can change out the flap easily.I don't know if they work good though.

I geuss you could take off the flap or raise it up and put your plugs back in if needed.

Just an FYI, the ping pong scupper stops I had on my proline would get gunked up with whatever was floating out, and get stuck letting the ocean back in. PIA having to keep cleaning them out. I like the flappers better, but I use stopper plugs on the inside of my skiff. Easy enough to pull them out under way to drain what ever is in there. just my .02.

Broke,

I had those on my Sea Pro and they worked great. I'm not sure how they will do on a skiff.

You have to consider all of the variables. E.g. I would be worried about how close to the water line they are gonna sit. Seems like they will be close enough to the water line to allow water to come in due to a lack of pressure while floating or drifting.

Will

I had these on my old skiff (1993 19DLX) and they worked fine. That boat did not have a bilge pump. On my new 19DLV I am going with keeping the holes plugged and letting the bilge pump keep the boat dry.

I will tell you, do not be tempted to use the kind of scuppers that are rubber and look like a duck's bill (don't know what they are called and I could not find a picture to post). But I used those on my old skiff one year and they nearly cost me the boat. They got all gummed up and stopped letting water flow out. I had the boat on a mooring and was 100 miles away from it during a torential rainstorm and got a call from the harbor master that my boat was about to sink. The battery / gas tank / etc. were all under water and it was a very costly repair...

found a picture - stay away from these:\

They came on my Elite. No problems so far.

I just put them on my boat about 2 months ago, no problems to report. They work great.

I put the Rabud ping pong type on mine. Scuppers are well above the water until ya step on that side of the boat. So far they're working great. Have also had the flapper type before and they were fine for a year or so until the flap kinda opened up and wouldn't close all the way. Both are easy to replace when needed tho.
