I bought my 218 dlv with suzuki outboard at Chatlee marine in NC. I didn't receive any paperwork regarding the warranty on the outboard. I was told I had a six year warranty. Should I have received some paperwork on either the standard 3-year warranty and/or the 3 year extension? Or is there a place I should register for the warranty? Thanks for any info.

fishfinder,
Yes, you should have some documentation on your warranty. Usually your dealer will fill out and send in your registration card. I'd check with Chatlee and make sure they did this. I received my warranty in the mail about two weeks after I took delivery of boat/motor.
Good luck, Gregg

It's been just over two weeks since I purchased. It's probably on its way. Thank you Gentleman.

Let me know, what you find out please. After going through this last year (buying a boat), and now stepping up this year. I thought it strange I didn't receive anything on this. Last year I did, this year I didn't, 2 different dealers.
This year they told me they info is sent to Suzuki ... *006*
Last year I got a wallet sized service maintenance card in the mail, to be shown when getting any work done. this year I never got one. Both Suzuki motors..
Thanks and keep me posted.

I talked with Steve at American Suzuki customer service (1-800-247-4704) today. He said there is no associated paperwork or warranty card anymore. The warranty is associated with the motor serial #. My outboard was in their system and under warranty until May 2011. They typically don't see information in the system regarding extended protection for at least 3 months after purchase.
For the extended warranty, which he noted is an insurance policy, Suzuki typically uses a company called Cornerstone (877-473-7669) but the dealer could have used someone else. I had asked Chatlee to send me some information on this a couple weeks ago but they never did. I will probably call Suzuki or check with my local dealer 6 months from now to make sure I have extended protection in the system.
