Crabbing Report - Patcong Creek

LOADED WITH COMMERCIAL TRAPS!

My goodness, there were a TON of traps set out in the creek...made crabbing very difficult...

Anyway, we set the lines out and crabbed for about 4 hours...wind didn't help the run, but we did manage about 3/4 bushel (69 crabs) with probably double that in pups...few females (all went back in), most crabs that we kept were over 5"...

Nice day on the water, but man, I have to think that those commercial traps were part of the reason we didn;t get a full bushell...

the commercial pots are everywhere and in numbers....you did lots better than we did. Sat. afternoon had 1 pot and 10 raps out, got a half dozen more later

We're heading back out tomorrow...looks like the wind will be a problem again...

Incidently, we keep the skiff in the water over in Margate...so we run through Risley's and Rainbow Channel on the way over...
