Hello Skiff Owners,

I'm new to the site. I finally have purchased a new boat. Have to wait 2 weeks for delivery can't really wait that long but it's coming. My name is Jose Ramos I currently reside in Fort Campbell Kentucky. I'm a soldier who grew up fishing in Puerto Rico. Been in Campbell for the last 4 years and in the military for about 9 years now. There is some good fishing here but it can never be compared to saltwater fishing. It's enought to satiesfy but not the same trill of being hooked up with a sailfish or a Dorado like back home but a nice size Bass is always good also.
I was first introduced to the Carolina Skiff models about 2 years ago by my fishing buddy Dave he owns a 16 DLX and I was pleased by the way the boat handled and the many places that we can get in to. This being allowed by the minimal draft of the Skiff models. I should have my 198DLV in a few weeks and then we will be going to the Tampa Bay area to do some saltwater fishing with my buddy Dave. He is already down there slaying the Tarpon. It won't be long until I be doing the same. Well to everyone enjoy your time in the water and have susseful fishing days.....

Thanks to everyone for the welcome. I got a suzuki 90 four stroke and a wireless Minn Kota Rip tide. Also got the bimini top on but not by choice I prefere the T-top but the bimini is much better for when the kids and wife are out with me. I will let my buddy Dave know about the site as soon as we get together down in Florida. I told him about my new boat and now he just got permision from the old lady to upgrade....LOL
I'll be posting pic's as soon as I have the boat and hopefully I can catch a nice fish to baptise the DLV.
BTW Harry this is a very informative site it will help many like my self when they get a chance to buy a boat. I'm looking forward to sharing my skiff outings with everyone on the site.

That's why we put it together and what we hope to accomplish.
Since getting my CS and spending time fishing & cruising the intercoastal, I'm amazed at how many people have these boats. Even up here in the northeast where deep v boats, such as the Grady Whites, Mako's, & Aquasports rule these boats seem to be popping up everywhere with very favorable response.
In fact today while fishing two guys motored up to me and my son in a little 12' aluminum boat and asked where the CS dealer was around here. They said they were looking at my boat and it was perfect for the type of fishing they do and wanted to get info on them. Maybe I ought to put www.CarolinaSkiffOwner.com on the side of my boat . :D

Last night the wife and I took out our neighbors for a cruise and dinner at a bayfront resturant. While cruising through the intercoastal, people on the decks of 2 different house's were looking and pointing at us and yelled down " NICE BOAT, THAT SUCKERS WIDE"!! not even giving the giant Donzi behind us a look. How cool was that ? ;D

Hopefully with all our active members and people such as yourself Ramos, posting and passing along the word about us, we can make this a great informative CS site and help promote the virsatile Skiff.

Fishing & Cruising, the best off both worlds !!!!
