Hey guys!
I am from a little town in South Georgia called Thomasville, about 30 minutes from the Florida line. I bought my first real boat 2 weeks ago, a 1999 Carolina Skiff J16 with: 2 livewells, poling platform, homemade pole, gps, vhs, cd player, 30hp johnson, center consol.
I thought the price was good, especially during summer, and she is just the right size for me and my girlfriend. We took her out for the first time last weekend at St. Marks. She did REAL good considering there were 4 of us in the boat, me, my girlfriend, mother, and big ol pops. She went a little over 25mph on the gps will all 4 of us on the boat, so she should do really well with just me and my girl, which it will be most of the time.
I am spending this week and weekend adding the name to the boat, adding pvc poles so I can back the empty trailer, a new cd player and speakers, and just general cleaning to get her ready for the 4th. We are heading down to Mexico beach from Wednesday through Saturday and plan to do a little scalloping (I have never done it.). My future father in law has a 19ft Cape Horn that he will also be bringing, so it should be a great time!
And I have noticed that there are no posts in the J Series section, am I the only one?
Anybody else going to Mexico Beach/Cape San Blas for the 4th, let me know.
