I had a few of those folding plastic cup holders from my old boat and used them on the skiff. They are the white plastic ones that are square shaped. I attached them on the inside of the hull with industrial 3m Velcro (GREAT stuff btw) . In bumpy water I heard rattles and assumed that it was the hatch lids. Now I know its the cup holders. It was driving me crazy, I had to open up all 4 of them just to run back to the dock. I just picked up some new suction cup holders to replace.

I still use the same one's you're talking about but I screwed them instead of the velcro. Only problem I've had is on the trailer, some times they "drop" open and break. Now when I trailer the boat, I just put some of that 200 mph duct tape on them to keep em closed. ;D ;D

God bless the inventor of duct tape. 012 012 012 012
As far as cup holders i was planning on the suction cup ones cause you can move them around.I had those 3 dollar ones they flip open all the time you bump on then once and that's it, broken.
As far as velcro i use the gray one from 3m it has those little pins on both sides instead of pins and cloth, they hold better.

NEM /Chatham,
The 3M Dual Lock is the stuuf you want. I have used it for all kinds of stuff and it does not fail. I mounted my knife/plier holder on the side of my console with it. Also the cupholders and my extension speaker for my VHF are mounted with it.

Your local hardware might have them, staples have them ,i made a mistake the 3M are clear and look like the ones are in the back of the e-z pass, they call them 3M dual lock, the gray ones are made by velcro and are the extreme model. Here is a picture, the velcro i bought it a couple of years ago, so might be more $ ;D
