Hey Guys
Ok here is my console...

here is my question...I want to hook up an extra bilge pump and a few other things...The top row of my switch's are in use...The bottom row from what I could feel have wires to them but no switches and not hooked up to anything. Can I unscrew the dash panel and lean it back to get to the switchs and see what wires go to it...Or do I need to try to contort me fat butt and go in from the bottom...sure seems like it would be easier from the top...Any ideas or help would be appreciated...BoogieBlue

Boogie, (By the way I went to Ga. and lived in Athens. Visit friends there from time to time.) Back to factory breaker panel: the bottom row are the breakers for the switches on the upper row. So you only have one blank, the one marked "accessory." You'll have to do some calculating to determine if you have enough capacity to add anything significant. I added an additional breaker panel and additional leads to the batter to power the new panel and added accessories. Do a search on wiring in the forum. Lots of projects and posts. Good luck, Aubrey

Boogie,
Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you copies of the wiring schematic CS sent me for the large console on the DLV. It might or might not be helpful to you depending on what you decide to do. I chose not to touch the factory wiring as stated in the previous post.

It defenitaly easier to work with te panel off, but when you take it out you do not want to rest it any where cause you might damage something or loosen aother connection. It looks not very comfortable but when you remove the tank you can actually sit on the floor with your body in the console facing aft and have all the tools you need between your legs and the side of your legs so you do not have to get up all the time.Like shaggy said, you only have one switch available and is fused with 15 Amp breaker, that is plenty for what you want to do.

Boogie,
What I did when adding my livewell timer was prewire the timer/switch, poke it through the hole from the inside... secure it with the nut, then make the final connections. This didn't totally elliminate having to get in an awkward position for the installation, but it minimized the amount of time.
Hope this helps.

hey
Thanks for all the help guys...After more thought and as big as I am I dont wont to go under the console...I dont know who rigged my boat but they actualy did a great job of wiring it...Everything works including an airator in the livewll...plus a neat job with ties holding it all together very nice...I dont want to start cutting ties and messing it up.
I decided to run the extra bildge pump to the battery in the back...fuse it and add a waterproof switch somewhere on the the back deck with easy quick access...That way I can get to it quick and it will be independent of the rest of the system malfunctions..I will also just splice my compass light into the Nav light wires(get My skinny Son to do that..lol)
I will mount a rail cleat with a small SS plate to the top of my grab rail to Mount a Magnetic 50 cal machine gun spotlight and power it with a cig lighter plug...for easy storage when not in use..If I add on an electric anchor I will run it to the back thru a half inch pvc conduit iam running the bank charger wire thru to the back and put a switch on the gunnell next to the console(easy reach from seat)...For deck lighting Iam gonna go with stick up lights...I saw some with Lithium batteries that last a long time...Plus no wiring involved...Well I think I have it figured out...Now just doing it is my problem...lol..
Thanks again guys....BoogieBlues
