Need some help with a prop. I have a 2000 238 semi-v with a 2005 Johnson 115 4 stroke. Fuel tanks in rear with a total of 35 gal. Two batt and trolling motor up front. I have a prop shop that will give me a few to try so what should i get? Anybody built a front step for this boat? Thanks, Sean

I have a 2005 238 semi v w/115 yamaha 4 stroke and I run an 18" pitch three blade prop. It's a Mercury prop as alot of the Yamaha 4 stroke lower units were Mercury. Boat runs approx. 40 mph w/ two people and 27 gallons of fuel in the console. No trolling motor, but three coolers (two w/ ice). There's a couple of steps on here that guys built. C/S recommends purchasing one of their island seats and mounting it near the front deck. Check ebay (search Carolina Skiff). There's a guy who builds a step for $185.00. I'd recommend making a good backing plate when you mount anything to the front deck. Just my $.02.

I'm pretty sure the ebay guy selling the step is our site sponsor Martin Marine Design. A discount is available through CSO. There is more info in the sponsor's forum.
