I've asked a lot of question and as of yet not come back and shown you guys any actual progress. Just wanted to let you all know I have been putting some of your helpful information to work, granted not at a very impressive pace.

I am setting my j16 up with a tiller handle motor to conserve space in the middle of the boat. With no console, the largest obstacle I have run into is where to mount the electronics where they will be functional and at the same time protected from elements. I ordered a watertight box from a company called Hoffman Electric. I was given the link to them by Shakespeare. I'm not sure this is what he had in mind, but I kind of took his idea and ran with it.

Thanks Mike. If I did it right it should be just like you would have done it. I say that because I used all of your answers to my questions as my wiring manual. You even gave me a wiring diagram. All I had to do was follow your instructions and crimp on a few connectors. Thanks for your help.
Don't want to neglect NEM and the few others who had some input also--Thanks.

Thanks freak, but I swear I have never done anything electrical before. The great part is I am 99% sure I have the appropriate size wire, breakers, and amp ratings on all of the components. All of this courtesy of information found right here on CSO. This site and it's members are the greatest resources anywhere for the uneducated do-it-yourselfer.
