Beautiful rig! I have been looking at the 218 DLV and the 238 DLV recently. I'm in the ESVA area. I'm looking to fish trhe creeks and bay on the bayside as well as exploring the barrier islands. With the right weather, I'l looking to troll the beach side as well. How 'wife friendly" is the ride? How dry? I'm looking for some feedback with regards to the traditional flat bottom CS. Obviously the DLV series should be drier and smoother, but I'm interested in hearing from actual owners.
thanks!

Actual owner here.... 010
I have 2 girls and a son, plus the wife.
And fish in the back bays of Atlantic City and off the beach up to 6 miles so far. I can tell you this. Like any flat bottom boat, (let's face it that's what it is, with a semi- "V") with the right wind, chop, & quarting sea, you'll get wet.
Last week we went out in the ocean with 3 men and 2 boys ( I have the 198 DLV w/90 Suzuki, by the way) and it was a sweet ride out. calm sea, running around 4,500RPM dry, no problem. After fishing for about 2 hrs the wind was picking up out of the south, and we had 2-3' seas and they were spaced about 3-4 seconds apart. it was a trailing quarting sea and we were taking them across the front starboard side. The spray would fly up, and the wind would deposit it in my face 001 I was running slow but the chop kept us wet.
On other days I had a bigger sea spaced farther apart and stayed dry. some days the waves were shorter and tighter together and I would get on top of them run 1/2 to 3/4 throttle and stay dry.
With these boats it all depends. The plus side. There really wide, and stable fishing platforms with lots of room , meant to be fished.
If you have anymore questions, I'll help you out the best I can.
Thanks for signing up with us !!!!

That is one sweet setup. I am planning to buy one very similar within the next 6 months. The only difference is it has a leaning post. I am salivating in preparation. Again, great looking skiff.

The boat still looks good to me. Just for kick and giggles, if you use the spray-on wax when you trailer it, the staining will not stick and if you do get some discoloration, it will wash off with little elbowgrease. *thumbsup*
