Boats going in for first time this Friday, keeping in the water for the season, dock is a floating dock. When docked do you want to leave the scupper plugs in or out?

Wilky, ya trying to get a fight started on here. ;D It depends, are you going to be around the boat the whole time or back in town till the weekend. At my lake house, I leave them in but, I'm there the whole time. Down on the coast I dock in a shallow creek, gone for hours/days at times, I leave them out. Just make sure you have enough weight towards the stern and not bow heavy.

Thanks for the info, unfortunately the boat will be sitting most of the week I will not be there. I did a search and did find additional info on another post. One CSO said he leaves the Starboard side scupper out. I guess I just have to get her in the water and see how she does never had a skiff before or a boat with scuppers.

A simple click on the "search tab" and type in the word "plugs" and I found many topics on this. Or you could try "scupper"
Remember guys these posts and topics are great & informative, but the search feature is your friend... thumbsup
I left all 3 plugs in on my 198 DLV and would rely on the rule 500 GPH pump installed by CS. It has a manual "on" swicth and an "auto" switch and no float swicth.
The float swicth is incoprarated in the pump itself. However the "auto" part of the bilge quit working and would only runs full time in both manual AND auto when switched in either position...... It's was only 5 months old at the time, boat, pump, everything.
I contacted the Dealer where I purchased from and CS is supposed to be taking care of it under warranty.
However when it was working properly it never drained the battery, & we had lots of rain. It comes on every 2 1/2 minutes and if it detects no water it shuts off within 1 second.
If you decide to leave the 2 outer plugs out, you can also add bailer flaps or the kind that have a ping pong type ball that floats up and plugs the holes when the transom goes down below the water line.
