I wanted to light the deck to move around at night but be dim enough that it would not affect vision.
What do ya all think

I installed two new 6 lug terminal boards under the console. Two switches in the console that run each terminal board. Ran half the lights to one and half to the other. I still have a gang of lights to run under the back deck that I will split in half also. That way if there is a minor wiring problem I only loose half my lights. And it takes the loads down a bit. Will show wiring if anyone wants but would probably be better to talk someone through. Aint hard at all.

Hey
they look cool..I would be afraid with my crazy fishing buddies getting excited and kicking or finding some way of breaking them that low...are the lens covers pretty strong?...I think I woiuld like a couple strings of just red for night fishing and maybe a set of clear ones on the front platform for just seeing...Good job....BoogieBlues

I agree - from my astronomy telescope days, red lights were the preferred color for not interfering with night vision.
Red would have been my choice aswell. Problem is that alot of red light bleeds out. It takes awhile to get use to. I wanted a bit more lihgt. With them being this low it should be OK. Been in the Submarine force in the Navy we use red light all the time at night.
But the big issue is that is all they had. I bought them at Advanced auto parts. The come in sets of two and are independent wiring. I liked this idea because they are not in series if problems happen. As far as kicking them off, it would take a well placed step or kick to break them off. They are (stainless steel, I hope) and only stick out about 1/2" I am more worried about the inside of the console. They are on a 1 1/2" bolt so there is atleast 1" of bolt sticking out the inside. I am thinking of buying 2" PVC and just cutting slots in it and then laying against the bolts to protect them.
Will update. Check out your Advanced Auto. These are the lights they put on Motorcycles or underneath cars.

I would add hydraulic trim tabs so you could jack it up and down while sitting there, and make sure and wear a pink T-shirt and purple fishing hat - for that truly 'Pimped Out Skiff' effect ;D, and don't forget the ghetto-blaster speakers playing really loud gangster rap music. For the final touch, how about seeing if you can get your GPS to display porn movies?
Hope my sick NYC sense of humor doesn't bother you too much *clonk*
