went and fished the inlet for memorial day weekend. had a lot of fun. i have a 1965dlx that i took out. had 4 people in the boat fishing comfortably all weekend. we had 2-2.5' chop and the skiff had no problem what so ever. as a matter of fach it was a perfect weekend on the water. we went out to the 3rd marker in the channel and then hung a left torwards the bridge. once we got to the bridge we hit a few nice spot, croaker and a few damn skates. we then went out further torwards the ocean and had less luck. came back in torwards the bridge in time to see someone in another skiff pulling in a big rockfish. bloodworms, frozen squid, shrimp, clams, mullett, and pealer crabs were all avail baits down there, we tried them all but had the most luck on the 'ol bloodworms. 8 bucks a dozen and they are the size of night crawlers. we had a good time though.
i left my 2 stroke yamaha 50hp in the salt water all weekend also. it was in salt water from fri to monday. brought it home on monday and washed it down really good and flushed the motor. i should be ok right? i am sure i will it is under warranty for 2 more years anyhow... :o
