Has anybody figured out a good way to make the seat stay up if you want to use it as a leaning post. I have seen the brackets on other cooler seats that you could stop the backrest in 4 or 5 diff positions. I like being able to lean against something for long rides. Any ideas would be helpful.

It's not elegant, but you could make some wood or starboard wedges to put into the pivot slot. Pick your angle and make four wedges to hold the back rest in place. Like I said it's not elegant, but it might work. kickrock

Chances are there is no structural support across the backrest. Be careful leaning your full body weight against it. It is most likely a wood box foundation covered in foam and vinyl pierced by two lag bolts on each side. It won't take long for the lags to wallow out or for the wood to stress and bust off near the tube...

Hey Mb,
if you look at the 2 SMALL screws that hold the back on to the cooler, you might change your mind, ours broke (throwing me on the floor and my wife to the side) on our 2nd outing. When the "dealer" "fixed" the problem they put 5200 in the holes, shoved the screws back in and called it fixed.
A redesign is in order for this area!!!!!!
Never guess who didn't EVER call to tell me my cooler seat was in, after 10 calls to them...........
