Since you placed this good tech info I'm gonna move it to the "Trick your Skiff" section. That where tips on modifying your skiff go.

Dave I own a 24DLX which I use for diving the Gulf off Florida and seldom fish from. My skiff is equiped with a large bait/leaning post. I use the baitwell for storage. So I hve also been thinking off plugging my transom holes. I viewed your pictures of the job you did on yours and would like to see some pictures of the finished job if you would post them. And also if you had any problems unique to the job you did. By the way from your pictures it looks pretty good. Thanks

Herb,
I will take some pics as soon as possible. She is out of the water for the winter and on the trailer. From the outside, you cannot tell there were holes as the bottom paint is painted over it. The repair held very well all summer. I had her in the water for 8 months.

One correction: to actually fill the hole, I used (beleive it or not) elmers thickened epoxy resin. It is awesome stuff. http://www.elmers.com/products/product/product_page.asp?pCode=E765
I used west to layup the three layers of glass and then 3 coats of gelcoat. Then, primed and bottom painted (twice).
Thanks Dave, for the pics and detailed description of your work - very informative and useful 013
Dave
