Whats everyones take on having a t-top and an internal gps antanna. I have the option of exchangeing my 498c with internal to an external. The reason is when I purchased it on line I was told that I could add a external at a later date. But when I received it theres no way to add one. The newer models have that option but the 498c doesn't seem to. I have added quite a few fishing spots on the one I have now which took about a half a day with nameing them and everything. Don't know if its worth exchangeing or not. The sales rep seem to think the internals ok with a t-top. What do you think.....Darell

I never had one with internal antenna, but a few people here have them and they have no problem even with a t-top.

I don't think you'll have a problem with it. Try it first. 012

The only problem with trying it for a while is that I don't plan on getting the t-top for a while. And when I do it will be to late to exchange.

What you do then is buy the one with external antenna, mount the antenna on the grab rail or on the console, then move it when you get the t-top.

I've never had problems with the internal GPS antenna unit (Garmin 440S) under my t-top.
