Well we made it back, weather was beautiful !!
Left around the dock at 3, made it to the Wilmington canyon around 6 (not not in my skiffrotflmao) Buddies 42 Henriqeus.
Set out a trolling spread, pulled bait until after dark with no takers.
Set up a chunking slick & swordfish rig and tossed chunks for what seems like forever with no luck. Around 12 we heard some radio chatter about a bite only a mile away. We made the move. Still tossing chunks of butterfish with no luck. After 2 of the guys get a nap and around 3 am I decide I better catch a cat nap. I dose off & 20 minutes later I hear the THUD of the first yellow fin hitting the deck. I spring to my feet and see a bloody 50 pound flopping around.*thumbsup*
OK, one fish,*006* the guys can handle it, so I close my eyes again. About 10 minutes later I hear the 50 wide Penn screaming. Again I jump up and pull on my boots.
This time the sounder screen is LIT UP with big red marks, so for the next 2 hours we landed 11 yellow fins and one Mahi *rod**rod**Cheers*
Time seemed to fly by now.
At day break we finish off the chunks and set up again for the troll hoping to nail some longfins.
Wound up getting one more yellow fin.*thumbsup*
Got back to port at 2, boat washed, dried and fished cleaned ,and home by 5pm.
Shower, chow and checking CSO now.
OK, I cannot lie to you, I'm TIRED........ ;D
See ya later.
All and all, another GREAT TRIP on the Full Course !!!
