Nice flatfish, or as Harry and boys from Jersey would say, nice flukes.
Specks were nice too. Glad you're catchin 'em up.
Me and my boy went Saturday, and things are getting good down here too. Caught some nice specks and some good eating size black drum.*rod*
No keeper reds. What? No reds for Redfish?*006*

Caught the flounder on gulp 4" shrimp on 1/8 oz. leadhead fishing the mouths of little creeks in 3-4 feet of water with a slow retrieve bouncing it off the bottom. Caught the trout in the same areas early morning with a skitterwalk.

Thanks very much. Been using gulp shrimp and live minnows at Masonboro out in the flats, will try just outside the creeks too next time.

Got to go out 2 Sundays in a row.*010*
Couldn't buy a trout topwater bite at first light*kickrock* but had to get my fix and found a redfish willing at the back of a shallow creek. Moved back to a little deeper water and found a good trout bite on gulp swimming mullet on an 1/8 oz. leadhead. The hook up to landing ratio wasn't too good but managed a few and a stray flounder. Of course all the big ones got away.rotflmao

Went to Wrigtsville Sunday, came back Tuesday. Caught the usual trash fish, and no flounder keepers. Weather was beautiful, really didn't care what I caught. Lots of trout fishing going on and looked like the surf fishermen were doing well on the south point. Saw lots of other "Skiffers". Great time to be on the water.

You gonna be out Sunday?
No... will be in the yard clearing away some pine trees I had felled a few weeks ago. This cold spell likely pushed out the remaining bait from inside and these stiff northerly winds would have likely kept me on land anyway ;D
*rod* Gunnar and his B-I-L should be pushing away from the ramp dock about now... BRrrrrrrr, I'm cold just thinking about it rotflmao

Yeah, it was cold and windy. . . would have stayed in bed if I had a choice but the b-i-l was down from Raleigh and gung ho to catch some fish.
Had the first frost of the year and the skiff was tad bit slippery for the first hour.;D I caught a keeper flounder and redfish fairly early while b-i-l was getting frustrated with no bites and losing lures to oysters. Had to take him to the :secret: double secret redfish hole to break the ice and one was right where it was supposed to be.*rod*
Tried to find some trout after that but with 15 mph NE wind and a strong incoming tide that wouldn't quit, it was tough and not much fun. B-i-l did manage one 16" trout before we gave it up and headed to the hill.
He got to take home a few fresh fish dinners and I'll wait for some fair weather to try it again. fishingsmilie*

You da man Gregg! Seems like I remember a similar day when I came down to fish with you last year... coldest day of the year, with a blowing nor'easter and slip-n-slide on the morning tide... we caught some fish too ;D
Funny how those days when we probly shoulda stayed home are the ones we remember most *Cheers*
