We have a 218 DLV with a 115hp on it that we actually tow maybe once or twice a year for about two hours at a time. The boat usually stays in the water. The boat has a single axle trailer that we tow with. We are in the market for a new vehicle. We like the Honda Pilot. It has plenty of room and the price seems right. The four wheel drive version lists a tow rating of 4500lbs. About how much is the combined weight for the DLV? Am I going to be okay with a pilot towing no more than we do? We are going from a Durango with a Hemi to this if we make the change. Thanks.

" Driving Impressions "
The deal breaker for me was the two statements below !

Acceleration off the line feels anemic & Pilot's rather long stopping distances.

May be fixed in 2012 models ?

regardless of which vehicle you decide to go with, and what they say it can tow you will have to be able to stop it also. Good Luck and tight lines!fishingsmilie*

i tow my classic 17 with my '03 pilot with no problems. would not hesitate to pull a 21. i would want the tow package with trans and steering coolers.
i think it accelerates well. just go test drive and see if you like it.

I own an '06 Honda Pilot and tow a 218 DLV with a 150 Suzuki and it does fine. I have the 4-wheel drive option (a must-have if pulling a trailer) I think you'll be fine towed mine from Chatlee to Emerald Isle, NC no problems what-so-ever. Don't get another Durango your just in for an American car night-mare. Hope this helps.

Sorry to say this but the only reason Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge is still around is because our stupid president lent them 12 billion dollars. Now I know this website isn't about politics but I had to bring them into this to make a point.

I would Never risk having a payment book & no Warranty by buying A Chrysler / Dodge or Jeep

Just to clarify who gave the initial money to Chrysler. It was given to them in December 2008. Who was President then? Bush. How much? $17 billion. Obama dumped a lot more into them in 2009.

Have an '06 still runs like the day my wife got it. Have about 110,000 miles on it. People at the service shop are really nice and helpful and always get me discounts.
