Anybody fishing the Delaware Bay for stiper? I have been out the past two weekends. So far I have managed about 30 shorts and 1 41" keeper, got to work on my batting average!*kickrock*
Delaware Bay is a new stomping ground for me so I think it may take me a while to dial in on the right locations.*rod*
My JVX20 has really suprised the heck out of me. This weekend I was out on Sat and Sunday in 15 to 20 knot winds with 3' to 5' seas. I never expected her to be able to handle that kind of water, very impressive! *017*

If you're new to fishing the bay please realize that it can turn on you
in a heartbeat with just the slightest wind change......you didn't say
whether you were fishing the upper or lower bay......I hope you weren't
down in the lower bay in the rips in the condition you mentioned.......
A friend of mine drives a Boat US tow boat and he has rescued and towed
many 18-20 foot boats that try to run the rips and get swamped .....They
are no place for a small boat when they are making up......You have no control when drifting thru them and all it takes is one wave.....

71 today but still windy. The High roller fishes mainly north AC and Brigintine. Pretty sheltered and it's a stable boat. Saturday is calling for 58 partly cloudy. Should be a good day for bass.
The report is spotty at best but they are starting to show up. Where the hgh roller fishes is one of the better shots at bass this time of year, without going into the ocean. My brother in law picked up a nice 40" 27lb bass last weekend in that inlet.
Good luck to you*rod*
Be sure to post your report when you get home

Thanks CamoRay for the heads up on the Cape May Rips, I will heed your advice and steer clear, especially in 50 degree water! I have been working the upper bay from Ship John down to as far as the Miah Maul.
I sold my 25' Aquasport about 6 years ago (Kids in College). I just picked up a JVX20 this year, now I'm back on the water and having a ball. Crabbing was a blast up until last month. Now I have set my sights on learning the art of Delaware bay chunking. *014*

Just got back this afternoon from a fun weekend. Went on the Head boat Jess O out of Margate New Jersey, the boat fished ledges a couple miles in the ocean down near OC. 3 Blues & 8 flounder were caught. I caught 1 flounder, we hooked up on one Striper, but lost when he headed under the Boat.
Had A Great time!

Well better then a blank.
REAL windy today as you know. I'm off until Saturday and if I can get up early enough in the AM might give it a shot before the blow picks back up.

Did try to slip out this afternoon around 1.
Holy CRAP was it windy !!!
Snuck around the rock pile and thought the ocean might be flat since it was blowing WSW. Was punched in the face with 10' breaking ground swells
Made a big loop to the GE bell bouy and surfed the incoming waves and incoming tide back inside the inet. :D
Fished the south bar with 2 other boats for about 45 minutes and bailed........
Tomorrow's not looking too good either
