Is it normal for tld20 to have a slight clicking sound when clicker is turned off. Anyone suggest a good one to clean them at Atlantic Beach/Morehead. Kind of undecided what line and rod to pair it up with.Any suggestions?
Don't know about the clicking sound TD, but there are a few places in this area that work on these reels... Capt Joe Shute's in Atlantic Beach would be my first choice, EJW's in Morehead my second.
Tell us a little more about what you will be fishing for and what type of fishing will you most be doing... trolling, casting, bottom fishing? Lures, live bait?? Jigging, pitching jigs or live bait to cobia??? For a general purpose, inexpensive rod, take a look at the Tiger series rods from Shakespeare (Ugly Stik).

I don't know about the TLD20's, but my TLD15's do not make any sound when the clicker is turned off. Sounds like your reel needs to be taken apart and cleaned (the little ratched on the clicker inside the reel needs to be freed up). As for a rod and line for this reel, I agree with Dave that the Shakespear Tiger stick is hard to beat.fishingsmilie* If you're going to troll, get a fast tip (20 pound class Tiger stick). The TLD series reels are best for trolling since you can adjust the drag while fighting fish without putting too much pressure on the line or fishes mouth. For bottom fishing, I prefer a non-lever drag reel, but still use the Tiger Stick rods (30 to 50 pound class rod with much more backbone)*rod*. Line is your choice. Good luck with your reel cleaning and fishing. Tight lines!!*Cheers*
