I would appreciate some local knowledge regarding navigating Rich Inlet. I have a CS '95 21 standard (2180DLX) and normally put in at Scott's Hill Marina. I have tried going out Rich but it just seems to be a wall of swells and white water with no break. Having seen boats run the pass there, I know there must be a way. Any suggestions?

Pretty easy and safe most of the time. There is an old sunken ship in the inlet just south east of Lea Island that you need to watch for at low tide. I would suggest going out at low tide on a calm day and get familiar with the shoals. (they move quite a bit, just stay away from white water!!!) Inlet basically is navigable. Head straight out and then hang a right. You will have shoals to your left (offshore side) and big sand bar/flat to the right. (off northern side of figure eight) You will need to head south for probably a quarter mile before you can safely turn offshore and be clear of the shoals. If you go in the morning before the wind gets up, its pretty clear to see.
