Had live minnows and frozen shrimp, and not even a nibble 001
Doesn't really matter - I just love being out there. The lake was like glass, and lots of people out cruising and fishing.

I was running on my Walmart 6 gallon tank, and every now and then the engine would drop rpm and then pick up again. When I stopped in one of my coves to fish for a while, I couldn't get the engine started again. Had to switch to the other tank (a real Yamaha). Then the next time I stopped, I tightened up the fuel outlet fitting AGAIN, and was able to run on it the rest of the day. Any suggestions on how to seal that POS, or should I just trash it and go for another Yamaha tank. The fitting screws in (plastic into plastic), and I don't think there's any kind of O-ring or anything. It is supposed to seal by pure magic. I was thinking about wrapping the treads with 300-400 turns of teflon tape. Guess you get what you pay for 001

I'd try the teflon tape before I trashed it Bob, but you are right, with few exceptions, you do get what you pay for. I've been through a couple WalMart tanks myself, in other boats... clonk

Teflon tape made it worse, believe it or not. It would just spin and never tighten down - too good a lubricant I guess. I'm going to replace it.

Anybody have experience with Moeller tanks? I've looked at pix of them and they appear to be literally identical in appearance to my genuine Yamaha tank, but about 1/3 the price that Yamaha gets for one. Makes me think a Yamaha tank is really a re-branded Moeller.

Make sure you check that fitting. ;D
You DON'T wanna buy this tank and the Yamaha later. Then you gonna do this 001

They come with a female pipe thread, or you can buy them with the fittings and hoses for any make outboard (for about twice the price). If I get this one, I'll buy just the tank and then get the fitting from my dealer - even though the fitting may be exactly the same one Walmart sells.

I just leave one fitting connected to the motor and switch the other between port and starboard tanks.
