I just brought a 238 dvl back from harrisburg to pittsburgh with a 2004 ram
3500 quad cab 4wd dually.Motor is a 5.9 h.o. turbo diesel with a 355 rear end.Using Lucas fuel additive I was getting 17mpg running 70 mph most of the time with the cruise on.Hardly new it was back there and never downshifted out of high gear.Ran at about 1900 rpm.Running at 1500 and 55 mph would probably give me 19-20.This truck gets 24.5 mpg with no boat at those r.p.m.'s.

I pull with the same thing. I have to check mirrors to be sure the skiff is still there. Mine does not get as good of MPG, 19-20 empty, automatic transmission and geared 410. I have a full living quarters, 4 horse trailer, 36' long/8' wide/8' tall grossing 13,200 lbs with two horses and I get 15.5-16 mpg pulling it and the HO Cummins pulls it like a champ.

i understand that the gas prices will fall about 50 cents over the next month or so. I cant wait. perhaps i can drive the dodge more often.
