I've got what feels like a stupid question, but I'm just a dumb carpenter. 019
The TM receptacle on the boat is 12/24v, so it has two sets of leads. I'm only going to use a 12v TM. Do I hook up both sets of leads to the battery or just one set and cap the other? Can one of you electrical guru's straighten me out?

Thanks, clueless Gregg

Gregg,

Do you have a manufacturer name and a part number for that receptacle?

Mike,
It's kinda dark and wet out but I went out there anyway. 001 I can't see any info on the plate, I'll check underneath the deck when it's light out

Is it the factory TM plug.

Hey guys,
Here are a couple of pictures. The receptacle is factory installed and is labeled Marinco 12/24v. Does that help?

I went up on Marinco web site and couldn't find any 4 lead receptacles.

I dunno Gregg 006 I'm gonna have to fold on this one. Hopefully someone else has some experience on this.

There is a jumper inside the male plug from the TM.When you wire that plug up you will see it.It series so that it will be 24 Volts. You can just take the jumper out and it should be 12 volts.Just use one side or two of the terminals.Get your self a volt/ohm meter to check it.

This picture is from the 12 volt plug it has two jumpers. The 24 volt has one jumper.

This also could be confusing to you.

OK, I think I got it. I did receive two plugs [male end] one is 12/24v and the other 12v. I don't think it matters which I use as long as it is wired correctly. I don't have the trolling motor yet just concerned when I saw 4 wires coming out of the receptacle of what I thought was a 12v system. I used the link to Marinco and downloaded instructions that seem to make sense.

Thanks for your help 012

I hooked up my TM battery today. Had to dismount the receptacle to take the leads off battery"B" posts and remount. Put battery pan with strap under front deck attached with ss screws and 5200 caulk. Cut two superballs in half and epoxyed to bottom inside corners of pan to help reduce the pounding the battery is going to take. Hooked up the battery and I'm good to go. All I need now is aTM. 001
