HOLY FREAKING CRAP!

I don't know what exactly was going on tonight, but I can say that I have NEVER seen or heard of a Redfish Run like we had tonight...
Too bad the law only allows one per "harvester". Everybody could have taken home a dozen 5 pounders each!

No sooner did your bait hit the water and sSsSsSsSLAM!!! My 7 year old caught his first Redfish (a 4.5lb 26 incher) this evening... and his second, third & Forth! Thank goodness that we were lucky in that many were hooked in the corner of the mouth so releasing wasn't an issue.

Had we kept all that was caught, we'd have 30 Reds in the cooler. As it is, between my fishing buddy, his girl (they met us at the Honey Hole after a few frantic phone calls!) my son & myself we have close to 30lbs of Redfish!

Pictures to follow tomorrow morning, I am too tired to do them now! 012 012

Wow....Thats Fantastic!
No need to be too specific about area, but where were they caught... like on flats? Grass? Sand holes? Oyster Bar? Mangrove? River? Or next to deep water channel? I ask because in my 5 mths fishing on the water down here in Florida I have yet to see a herd in person. All I have caught so far is two Rat Reds. And they fought like heck.

Congratulations to you and your Son!...... 013

Here is about the only image that came out. Last night the weather was cold & damp and the lens on the camera was fogged. Zero images from last night, but I did grab a couple shots of Juniors Reds.
