So last night my fishing buddy, becoming more and more domesticated by the woman I set him up with, decides to ditch me and go fishing with his ladyfriend. Okay fine, whatever. No biggie. I make plans for tonight.
So he calls last night at 10 minutes after 9pm. They fished for 2.5 hours and every single time the bait hit the water, bang zoom another Red on! The smallest fish they caught was 4lbs! They caught 20 in all. Which while is awesome as heck, also blows chunks because of course you can only keep 1 per person!!!
Why are the fishing Gods so mad at me? I deal with this whole boat nightmare without breaking any commandments, my wife bails on me right after the holidays yet I willingly pay for everything and remain friendly and kind to her, I make a huge career change days before Christmas, I pay my fishing dues in the rain, cold & rough conditions with many days spending 10 or 12 hours only to get skunked and I have YET to have an afternoon of fishing like that!
What does a guy need to do to catch a break? LOL!

I am in no way really upset. In fact just the opposite, I am stoked he had a great afternoon fishing. Although I'd like to get a break once in a while, I will quietly go out in about an hour and try my luck at our ultra secret location... My only hope is I have some luck, my 7 year old son wants to see what night fishing is all about. So we will hit the water around 4:30pm and stay out until maybe 10pm or so. Please oh please Redfish, please visit our honeyhole tonight. I will lovingly eat you and savor every last bit of your flaky flesh.
