I know this doesn't have anything to do with Carolina Skiff's but I also know there are a lot of knowledgeable fishermen on here. What do you do for storing your gulp baits to keep the light from turning them dark? I've found a pretty good supplier but I need to order $100.00 min order to get free shipping. I'm also convinced that fresh looking gulps are better that when they turn dark. I just bought the new "Liqua-Bait Locker" from Plano and it's clear plastic. I'm tempted to spray paint it to keep the sunlight out. Let's hear what ya'll do to store bait.fishingsmilie*

Absolutely, refrigerate them... didn't know they "froze" well. I lost about 200 bucks worth due to them being stored in a my hot boat shed. I think the juice goes bad if left in the heat for very long. Many of the unopened (light colored baits) turned dark, and they weren't particularly exposed to sunlight either, but you're right Bob... sunlight surely won't help.

It seems that fishbites has increased there product line and several of the Hatteras folks have moved from gulp to fishbites. I will try them myself if this wind and rain ever go away. Heavy rain and 32 mph winds with gusts to 50 mph here in Hatteras today. More than I need for excitement.

Didn't know that... thanks!!! I have a few packages of their new 3-1/2" shrimp offerings on the way... ordered direct from their website *Cheers*

I've also been having good luck with Mister Twister Saltwater Exude baits... these are also scented baits, claiming to exxxxxxxxude flavor into the scent trail, and don't smell or make as big a mess as gulps. Gulp baits have proven themselves excellent fish catchers so I won't be giving them up completely, I don't think, but will buying a lot less than I used to.
