I have my trolling batteries located under the front deck with my on board battery charger mounted under the front deck.I would like to move my TM batteries to the rear under the back deck. I would like to no can i leave my on board battery charger up front and extend the wiring from the charger to the batteries relocated under the rear deck for charging. If this can be done what size wire will i need . The length should be no more than 15'
Thanks

The recommended wire size for a 10 Amp / 12VDC circuit run 15' with 75 degree C wire and an allowable 5% voltage drop is 14 gauge. For a 20 Amp circuit with the same criteria, it would be 12 gauge.
If you'd like to play with the numbers, see this handy DC circuit wizard at Blue Sea;

You need to figure the wire size from the bats to the TM also, don't you?

You don't indicate what boat you have. Just a suggestion, but I would temporarily move the batteries to the back and make sure your rig still rides acceptably - that's quite a bit of weight to move from the front to the back. My little J16 rides differently if I eat a big meal ;D

I have a 1780dlx with a 75hp 4stroke yamaha motor 2006.
I want to get more weight in the back ,when i run on plane at 4000 rpm and the water start to get a little rough i have a hard time getting the bow up for a better ride at 4000 rpm .Only way i can get the bow up for a better ride is to drop my rpm to 3600 rpm.
thanks for the help

Look at the thread I just posted in the trick your skiff section. Might change your mind. ;)

Here's a link to lakebiker's post;

If you're redirecting a topic to another post it's helpful to include the link because over time the posts get buried pretty deep in the pile and it's difficult to find them. If you have any questions on how to do this then contact a mod. ;D
Thanks,
