For each wheel, how much grease does it generally take to fill the hub. Say your using the standard tube of marine grease, would you say each hub takes roughly half of the grease or even more? I'm about to do the trailer hubs this weekend and want to know approximately how much grease I need to complete the job. I have a single axle, so two hubs need filled.

Any tips on this greatly appreciated as well!

IMO bearing buddies are money in the bank and well spent. Are you pulling everything apart?
Should use less then one tube of grease. Once buddies are installed. Pump in enough grease until the zerks fitting pushes to the outer edge of the hub. They are spring loaded. As the grease wears out the spring keep pressure on the grease and you now have a visuale grease level indicator. As the spring relaxes the zerks fitting moves towards the inside of the hub and it's time for more grease.

Just refilled mine(4) and used less than one tube of grease.

I'm with Harry on the Bearing buddies. There are several different types. You can get them at any marine store, and most auto parts stores. NAPA, Autozone, etc.

I repack mine yearly and then give them several shots during the year. I had one bad experience trailering when the bearing went out.

Don't want that to happen again. *thumbsup*
