End of flounder season 2day in new jersey

Total keepers 1.......Total shorts had to be over 300....Fished every weekend,I never seen as many flounder in the back bay as this year and they hung around along timee.Also minows were able to be caught at the dock, 1'st year in many that I did not have to buy them.All in all I had a great time with the flatties,with the numbers that were around I'm hoping next year is even better in Jersey...How did everyone else do ? Bring on the striper's*yay*

I did great from the begining of the season until about mid June and then it was like someone turned off a switch with mainly shorts after that.

Biggest of this season for me was 3.7 lbs. Had a few days with 5 keepers, but again this was early in the season. I would like to see them open it up earlier say mid April and end it mid Aug. Unless you want to run out front your gonna get mostly shorts late.

This year I had 12 keepers......10 in the back and 2 in D bay.....BUT ...did not have one over 19 1/2"...... being retired I fish every week day from
5AM to about 11 AM weather or "honey do list" permitting......no great days ....just one keeper every now and then......PLENTY of throw backs
in the 14" to 17" range for the commercials to drag up for the restaurants and fish markets this winter....

the same thing in the back of my mind... the rec angler may never see the benefit from returning all these fish... just makes it easier for the comm guys to net their tonage
